Mischa Barton is "open" to a return to 'Neighbours'.
The former 'O.C.' star will appear in the revived Australian soap opera - which will air on Amazon Freevee from September 18 after previously being axed - as a guest character, Reece, an American new to Erinsborough who is not quite who she appears to be.
Mischa is hoping she gets to reprise the role after having such a great experience during filming.
Speaking at the launch of The Neighbours Experience in London on Thursday (14.09.23), she said: “It’s very much open-ended at this point, so anything is possible!”
Alan Fletcher, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy since 1994, admits they owe it to the show's loyal fanbase for getting the soap resurrected .
He said: “Shows when they get cancelled, they don’t come back and this show had millions of people who love it and Amazon saw this and bought us back. You guys support us 100 per cent and Here’s to you!”
Speaking ahead of the relaunch, Alan commented: “'Neighbours' isn’t just a TV show, it’s a part of people’s lives."
On what to expect from the new series, he added: "If you turn on the new 'Neighbours' next Monday having never watched an episode in your life, you will have no problem falling in love with the show.
"We have a mix of favourites and fabulous new people in the cast… it’s back and better than ever!”
At the immersive Neighbours Experience this weekend fans can explore Harold’s Café, Lassiters, and Karl and Susan Kennedy’s living room and check out "iconic props and costumes" such as Kylie Minogue’s alter ego Charlene Robinson's wedding dress.
Reality TV star Gemma Collins and presenter Rylan Clark were among the first to visit the attraction, along with cast members Alan, Mischa, Rebekah Elmaloglou, Georgie Stone, Tim Kano and Stefan Dennis.
'Neighbours: A New Chapter' premieres exclusively on Amazon Freevee from September 18 with new episodes daily Monday to Thursday.
