Olly Murs would "love" to replace Gary Barlow on 'The X Factor'.
The Take That singer will step down from his role as a judge at the end of the current series to focus on his own career, and the star - who was a runner-up on the show in 2009 - is very keen to take his spot next year.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "I'd love to do it. I came from the show, I know exactly what the contestants are going through and I think I've had enough success to be credible."
Olly, 29, has been tipped as the top choice to replace Gary, with the show's bosses claiming the 'Dear Darlin' hitmaker's working relationship with Simon Cowell will work in his favour.
An insider previously said: "We'd love to get Olly back as a young judge to freshen things up. He can relate to the other singers like no one else.
"Crucially, boss Simon Cowell is on good terms with Olly so if he can fit auditions around his career we think he would be perfect. Deals won't be done until the series ends but Olly is a front runner."
