AJ Odudu could reportedly return to 'Strictly Come Dancing' next year.
The 33-year-old TV presenter was forced to quit Saturday's final (18.12.21) due to injury, but there might be a chance for her to appear in 2022 for a one-off performance.
An insider told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "The winner of the show returns to perform again for one dance when the series starts up again, and it's been suggested AJ could be allowed to come back for one last turn on the dance floor."
Although nothing is certain, it sounds like bosses could be open to the idea of having AJ and her pro partner Kai Widdrington back in the ballroom.
The source added: "Nothing has been decided yet but, if they can make schedules line up, AJ could be back for a final spin."
AJ wasn't able to compete over the weekend after suffering ankle ligament damage during training, and after consulting medical professionals, it was decided that she would have to withdraw from the competition at the last hurle.
On Friday (17.12.21), a heartbroken AJ confirmed she was out of the final - which was won by Rose Ayling-Ellis and her partner Giovanni Pernice - but admitted her 'Strictly' journey had been a "lifelong dream" that "came true".
She said: "I'm deeply upset that I am unable to perform in the final due to a torn ligament in my right ankle.
"Learning to dance over the last 13 weeks has been an incredible honour and to do it alongside someone as special, patient and devoted as Kai is something I'll treasure forever.
"Thank you to the 'Strictly' family for the experience, the medical team for trying to get me back on my feet and mostly, to everyone at home for watching and supporting. You've made this experience one to remember.
"'Strictly Come Dancing' has been a lifelong dream and I'm glad it came true. Good luck to my partners in dance, John and Johannes and Rose and Giovanni. I will be cheering you on (on one leg!)"
