Celebrating the “very best of the much-loved British TV soaps, ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Hollyoaks’”, they will be held at The Midland Hotel, Manchester, on Saturday 13 July – with storylines including rape, murder, trans and gay outings and the diagnosis of motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s among those set to be honoured at the event.
Roy Cropper’s arrest in ‘Coronation Street’ over the disappearance of Lauren Bolton is also listed in the Best Storyline category.
Actors Will Mellor and Todd Boyce have got nods in the ‘Best Villain’ category.
Will, 48, played warped Harvey Gaskell in ‘Coronation Street’, who was locked up for the savage murder of Natasha Blakeman.
American actor Todd, 62, was evil Stephen Reid on the ITV soap, who murdered three people before being caught, and met his fate when he was ran over by Peter Barlow in front of his mum Audrey.
Soap fans can head to the RadioTimes.com soap news page and social channels to catch winners, exclusive interviews and gossip from the awards night.
Fans can also vote for their soap favourites in six of the 12 categories, including Best Soap.
A further six awards will be decided by a panel of soap experts, and RadioTimes.com will also be awarding the Special Recognition award to a star who has made a “significant contribution to the world of TV and Soaps”.
The categories and nominations for the RadioTimes.com Soap Awards, sponsored by Inspired Villages include: Best Soap, Best Villain, Best Comedy, Best Exit, Soap Moment of the Year, Inspiring Storyline of the Year, Best Actor, Best Storyline, Best Newcomer, Best Twist, Best Young Performer and Best Episode.
A press release for the event, sponsored by Inspired Villages, said it “will see talent, writers, producers and actors from ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ walk the red carpet at the Midland Hotel in Manchester”.

Voting is open to all UK residents, including the Channel Islands, aged 18 years or older.
The public voting will run from 13 May 2024 until 23;59pm on 10 June 2024. Any votes cast after the closing date will not be considered. By casting your vote, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

There is a limit of one vote per category per day for each voter.
