Nigel Havers jokingly asked Holly Willoughby to join him for a lunch date on Tuesday (28.02.17).
The 'Benidorm' star appeared on 'This Morning', which is fronted by the blonde beauty and her co-host Phillip Schofield, today to promote his forthcoming cameo appearance in the new series of the ITV comedy but couldn't resist the opportunity to flirt with the presenter and ask her out.
He asked after he swapped places on the sofa with her and pretended he was Phillip's new co-host: "What are you doing for the rest of the day? How about a spot of lunch?"
The silver fox was mortified by Nigel's presenting skills and told him off for "chatting up" their guest - who Holly was pretending to be - because that's "unacceptable behaviour."
He screeched: "You can't chat up the guests! That's unacceptable."
But Holly - who has three children; Harry, seven, Belle, five, and Chester, two, with her husband Dan Baldwin - thought the remark was hilarious and praised him on his "slick" actions.
She said with an embarrassed giggle: "That's very slick, well done."
Meanwhile, the 64-year-old actor is looking forward to seeing himself play a crook who attempts to con cash from staff at the famous Solana hotel in Costa Blanca, in the new series of 'Benidorm' after bosses signed him up because they thought he would be the perfect eye candy.
A source said previously: "Signing Nigel up is a real coup as he loves comedy and has a class acting background. He also appeals to women of a certain age as he was a real heartthrob."
And Nigel is certainly no stranger to ruffling feathers as he also appeared in 'Coronation Street' on and off for two years as suave scammer Lewis Archer, who forged a plan to steal money from Peter Barlow's (Chris Gascoyne) betting shop by cashing fraudulently franked betting slips.
'Benidorm' will return to screens tomorrow (01.03.17) night at 9pm on ITV.
