Nicole Scherzinger's split from Lewis Hamilton is to blame for her tearing up on 'The X Factor'.
The singer and judge on the reality TV show has been overwhelmed on a number of occasions during the current series, and blames her personal life - which saw her split from the Formula 1 ace in June - is part of the reason.
She told new! magazine: "On the personal side, it has been a hard year for me. I am not a robot and I wear my heart on my sleeve. Music is part of my life and touches me, so I think I've been a bit more emotional. I was obviously going through some stuff internally and I think anyone could relate to that."
Nicole, 35, added she looks up to fellow judge Sharon Osbourne - who sits on the panel with her, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh - as her "mama".
She added: "I love Sharon. She's amazing - she's the mama. I look up to her. [With] Mrs O. back the energy is different [to last year's series]."
Meanwhile, Gary has admitted Nicole pulls his head into her chest "a lot" and has joked she is "completely crazy".
He said: "You know what, I think she knows she is safe with me. I'm a happily married man. But she is full-on. She is completely crazy. She really is."
