Nicola Thorp is "so excited" for her 'Coronation Street' comeback.
The 30-year-old actress hasn't been seen on the cobbles since her alter ego Nicola Rubinstein fled with her baby Zack and step-mother Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), but she will make her return in scenes set to air early next year.
In a clip shared on the official 'Corrie' Twitter page: "It's my first day back on the set of Corrie. I'm so excited to be back. I've missed you all.
"It's been a long time now since Phelan's reign of terror, but I hope you're all looking forward to what Nicola's going to get up to in January when she's back on screens."
Nicola left the soap over the summer after a year as part of the cast, and her co-star Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) dropped a big hint at the time that she would be back sooner rather than later.
She previously said: "It was announced recently that Nicola Thorp is leaving the soap. I'm sure it's not the last we've seen of her - she's a great actress."
Meanwhile, it's been reported that the cast and crew are all excited for Nicola to make her return.
An insider recently said: "Everyone is thrilled Nicola is coming back. She was always really popular on set and has so many friends in the cast.
"Producers think it is the perfect time to bring her character back. Nicola jumped at the chance to do more.
"She loved her first year on Corrie and wants to stay part of the family... The hope is for Nicola to keep coming and going so her storylines continue to be exciting."
