Nicola Adams doesn't think that being part of 'Strictly Come Dancing's first-ever same-sex couple is a "big deal".
The former Olympian is set to dance with a female professional in the upcoming series, but Nicola is surprised by the interest surrounding her on-screen partnership.
Asked why she wanted to be partnered with another woman, she said: "Just for diversity, I guess, and I wanted to do something different and I didn't see what the big deal would be with pairing another female.
"I mean, we go to nightclubs and dance with other girls all the time and professional dancers dance with other girls all the time so I don't think it's a big deal!"
Nicola, 37 - who won a gold medal in the boxing ring at London 2012 - has also admitted that she'll be totally out of her comfort zone on the BBC show.
She told Mirror TV: "I think this is going to be a huge challenge for me, just because it's going to be totally out of my comfort zone.
"I'm used to being in the boxing ring and this is a totally different kind of ring, learning routines ... it's going to be exciting!"
Nicola is set to break from tradition by wearing trousers to dance during the upcoming series.
But she's promised viewers that she'll still be springing a few surprises on the show.
She said: "I'm very committed to [wearing trousers] this season. I'll be in trousers - different types, so they'll be short, full length. But I like to keep surprises though."
