Nick Miles has admitted some 'Emmerdale' viewers have threatened to "stop watching" if Jimmy and Nicola King don't get back together.
The 58-year-old actor - who has played Jimmy on the ITV soap since 2004 - has opened up on a potential reconciliation for the estranged couple.
He said: "The 'If you split Nicola and Jimmy up I'll stop watching' bomb has been thrown a few times. We'll just have to wait and see!"
And Nick himself would be devastated if his alter ego permanently split from Nicola Wheeler's character.
He added: "I'd be bereft without a doubt [if Jimmy and Nicola split]. I love working with Nicola.
"It's been great fun working with Lisa Riley as well, but Jimmy and Nicola have had such a long partnership. I'd definitely miss it."
The long-term TV couple are estranged, with Jimmy waiting the verdict of his trial.
Next week, he'll be seen turning his back on Nicola, and instead turning to Lisa's character Mandy Dingle for support.
The pair even share a kiss after she reads him the speech she's planning to deliver on his behalf, and Nick admitted Jimmy and Nicola's fate lies in the latter's hands.
He pondered: "How often can she take him back? This needs to be a question for Nicola. Will she still want him after everything?"
Meanwhile, Nick previously admitted he actually thought he was getting sacked when one of the soap's producers called him about his special lockdown episode last year.
He said at the time: "It was a bit of a shock. I got a call from one of our producers, but I always panic when I get a call from a producer.
"I thought it might have been a phone call to fire me, but it was actually about the lockdown episode!
"I was absolutely thrilled to be asked as there are only six episodes and Chris Gill has written a terrific script."
