Nick Grimshaw says Jordan North is so scared of lifts he will not get into one at Radio 1 - preferring to walk up and down eight floors on a daily basis.

The 36-year-old star was surprised his fellow Radio 1 DJ managed to tackle his fears on last night's (16.11.20) 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' trial, in which he was locked in a vault with 30 snakes, but he isn't sure why he decided to take part in the show because he fears "everything".

He said: "Jordan is genuinely scared of everything.

"When I found out he was going to be locked in a vault with snakes I was like, 'He won't do this.'

"He is even scared of the lifts at Radio 1. He won't get into the lift.

"We're only eight floors, so every time he comes in he will walk up eight floors.

"So why he has gone on 'I'm A Celebrity, I don't know."

While Nick hopes his colleague is "through the worst now", he is prepared for his pal to be voted to take part in every trial.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain', he added: "I love that he did it. He's faced two of his biggest fears already - abseiling and snakes - and it's only Monday.

"Hopefully he has gone through the worst now, but he's going to get voted for everything."

He joked: "I'd vote for him for everything."

During last night's trial, Jordan kept referring to Burnley FC stadium Turf Moor as his "happy place" - as he is a big fan of The Clarets - in an attempt to ignore the hissing snakes surrounding him.

Afterwards, the official Burnley FC Twitter account wrote: "#HappyPlaceTurfMoor"

But 'I'm A Celebrity' hosts Ant and Dec - who are big Newcastle United fans - poked fun at Turf Moor being Jordan's "happy place", by pointing out the club are currently second bottom in the Premier League table, and are yet to record a League win this season.

Dec joked: "I'd hate to see his sad place."
