Nick Grimshaw failed to master a Liverpool accent during his cameo on 'Hollyoaks', but still managed to impress on the Channel 4 soap.
The Radio 1 'Breakfast Show' host has filmed a small part in the Channel 4 soap as an official involved in the naming ceremony of Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and Diane O'Connor's (Alex Fletcher) twins, but he didn't manage to perfect the local Scouse patter.
A show insider said: "He tried to give his character a Scouse accent after talking to Alex Fletcher, who plays Diane, all morning, but he couldn't master it."
Despite his accent issues, he also struggled to open a door on set but is said to have "impressed" overall.
The insider added to the Daily Star newspaper: "At one point he couldn't open the door to get on to set and was late for his cue.
"But he did a brilliant job and the crew were really impressed by him."
Nick is also making cameos in several other soaps including 'EastEnders' - which has recently recruited former 'Hollyoaks Later' star Danny Dyer - and 'Coronation Street' in a bid to impress his mum, who is a huge fan of such shows.
He recently said: "In a bid to make my mum proud of me, I'm going to do one better than Danny Dyer and rather than be in two soaps, be in five and hopefully then she'll accept me!"
