Starzplay, the streaming service that offers a wide variety of exclusive content, has recently unveiled the high-y-anticipated trailer and poster for season two of thrilling crime drama, Hightown.

The series from Emmy Award-winner Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Top Gun: Maverick) and Lionsgate Television is created by Rebecca Cutter (Gotham).

In season two of Hightown, the idyllic version of summer on Cape Cod clashes with its off-season reality. After achieving her life goal of becoming a real cop, Jackie Quinones (Monica Raymund), she sets out to do some good in the world.

Jackie is quickly thrown into the deadly crime wave of carfentanyl that is plaguing the Cape; she must become more focused and alert than she has ever been before as she aims to bring down the man who cause the death of her best friend, Junior: drug dealer Frankie Cuevas (Amaury Nolasco).

Frankie introduces his cousin, Jorge (Luis Guzmán), to join his operation but, once he does, a new level of violence and terror seeps in.

Ray Abruzzo (James Badge Dale), a disgraced officer who is off the force and mired in depression, seems no help here, so Jackie enlists help in new partner Leslie (Tonya Glanz); the only other woman on the force.

Through threats of violence, death and chaos, Jackie must keep her balance and not fall to the sharks below, and must keep her plethora of secrets locked away as the shame of her past is snapping at her heels.

Season two guest stars include Jona Xiao (Gifted, Being Mary Jane) as Daisy, Carlos Gómez (Law & Order True Crime, Madame Secretary) as Rafael Quinones, Mark Boone Junior (Sons of Anarchy, Paradise City) as Petey, Cecil Blutcher (Premature, Random Acts of Flyness) as Vernon and Crystal Lee Brown (Black Lightning, Mindhunter) as Janelle.

The trailer for Hightown’s second season throws you right back into the chaos. Jackie is still stern and ambitious, and is about to face a deadly challenge.

Tension, stress and the unknown all shroud season two of Hightown, and it seems that fans of the original series can’t wait for the story to continue. The stakes appear to be sky-high as Jackie faces untold and numerous threats; she better be ready for what’s to come.

Season two of Hightown will premiere on Starzplay on Sunday, October 17th, 2021; new episodes will release every week.
