The return of the iconic franchise is right around the corner, as Star Trek: Discovery gears up for a debut on CBS All Access in the US and Netflix in the UK. Featuring 15 episodes, fans of the series have been discovering new details and plot points about the show for the past few weeks, and now three great new images for the show have been revealed. Following a never-before-explored voyage of Starfleet, the show will see them go to war against the Klingons, who have been in chaos for many years before discovering the existence of their new adversaries.
Former The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green leads the show as Commander Michael Burnham, who’s now been revealed to be the half-sister of original Star Trek character, Spock. The details surrounding their relationship will likely be explored when the series hits the small screen, but what we do know is that Burnham’s human mother Amanda was married to Spock’s father, Sarek, and the pair raised her on Vulcan.
Producers promise that everything will make sense if viewers have patience and allow them to tell their story, after worries from the loyalists that it wouldn’t fit in with the franchise’s history and canon.
Star Trek: Discovery debuts on September 24 in the US on CBS before moving to CBS All Access, before coming to the UK on Netflix on September 25, with new episodes every Monday.
