'Gypsy Sisters' star Nettie Stanley has slammed her sister as a "disgrace".
The matriarch of the Stanley family - whose lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia, will be documented on the upcoming TLC show - hit out at her younger sibling Mellie for becoming a stripper, which she has now stopped, and branded her activities the "worst thing in gypsy history".
Speaking ahead of the show's debut on Wednesday (26.06.13), she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Mellie is one of a kind. Being the youngest girl, there has not been anyone in the world, speaking of all gypsies including my sisters, who have been a stripper.
"They have all got married to one man. They have all had children and they are all still married, except for Mellie.
"Her stripping is the worst thing in gypsy history. Period. The stripping thing has never in life been a part of our culture. It's a disgrace that she has taken that road.
"I'm not proud of being her sister or of helping to raise her when it comes to that."
While Nettie insists she sometimes "hates" Mellie being her sister, she is delighted the pregnant brunette has quit her stripping job since discovering she is expecting.
She added: "At times I enjoy being a mother figure to her but there are also times when I hate her being my sister.
"But Mellie has changed a lot since she's been pregnant. I'm very pleased with her ways now.
"She has matured. She has grown up a lot and learnt more about life. I'm proud of that part."
'Gypsy Sisters' airs weekly on TLC (Sky 125, Virgin 167 and BT Vision 875) from Wednesday June 26 at 9pm.
