The Robinson family will be making a return in a rebooted version of Lost In Space; an exciting new drama series set to come to Netflix across the globe next month. Reimagining the classic 1960s sci-fi series created by Irwin Allen, fans of the original have now been given an official glimpse of what they can expect when the reboot hits the streaming service. You can check out the trailer for the show below:

Taking place 30 years into the future, viewers will be drawn into a world where colonisation in space has become a reality, with families and individuals chosen to be tested and go out into space to create a new life for themselves, in what’s promised to be a better world.

For the Robinson family, the opportunity looks to be too good of one to pass up on, but when they and their fellow colonists find their vessel torn off course on the way to their new home, they’re forced to forge alliances with one another and work together if they’re to survive in a dangerous and all-new alien environment.

Toby Stephens stars as John Robinson in the series, with Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, Taylor Russell as eldest child Judy Robinson, Mina Sundwall as middle-child Penny Robinson, and Max Jenkins as the youngest and most vulnerable member of the family, Will Robinson.

Not alone in their terror, the family will come across master manipulator Dr. Smith played by Parker Posey; a man with an end game that would send everybody into a spin, as well as the charming rogue Don West, played by Ignacio Serrichio; a man who never had any intention of joining the colony in the first place, let alone crash landing on a planet lightyears away from his supposed destination.

Written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Lost In Space is produced by Legendary Television, with Zack Estrin serving as showrunner. Estrin joins Sazama and Sharpless as executive producers along with Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni from Synthesis Entertainment, as well as Neil Marshall and Marc Helwig from Applebox.

Lost In Space launches globally on Netflix on April 13, 2018.
