As the high school girlfriend of Light Turner, Mia goes on a quest alongside her love to rid the world of evil, when Light comes across a supernatural notebook that’s able to take the life of anyone whose name is written inside it.
Based on the famous Japanese manga of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, the film is expected to remain close to the source material. Though Light leads the film, he quickly becomes intoxicated by his godlike abilities and takes the lives of those he deems unworthy of life without much care before too long.

Directed by Adam Wingard, the film stars Nat Wolff alongside Qualley, with Lakeith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi, Shea Whigham and Willem Defoe as the voice of Ryuk.
Death Note premieres exclusively for Netflix members worldwide on August 25.
