'Strictly Come Dancing' star Neil Jones would "embrace" being part of the show's first all-male partnership.
The 38-year-old dancer's ex-wife Katya Jones made show history by pairing up with Nicola Adams this year for the first all-female duo on the programme, and he would be delighted to follow in their footsteps.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I wouldn’t have a problem with it. I’d embrace it. It would be great.
“We’ve seen so many great male dancers dance together in the past, so why not? We had Nicola on with Katya this year. If it was with another man I’d do the same.”
Neil - who joined the BBC Latin and ballroom competition four years ago - didn't have a celebrity partner this time, and he admitted a shorter series with fewer stars played a part in him missing out.
He added: "This year has been difficult because there were less celebrities. Hopefully next year is back to normal again and I can get a partner. Fingers crossed.”
Last month, it was revealed Neil - who was paired with former England football star Alex Scott on the BBC show in 2019 - had turned to video messaging site Cameo and was recording messages for £25 after missing out on the main lineup.
In an ad clip, he said: "I will be doing shoutouts, birthday messages, anything you want. If you’ve got some dancing fans out there, let me know - I’m here."
Katya and Nicola are expected to return to 'Strictly' for one final dance after being forced to leave the competition after the former tested positive for Covid-19.
A source recently said: "'Strictly' bosses knew as soon as Nicola had to leave that they wanted to do something special for her. The rules mean she can’t come back to the show next year but they’re planning to bring her back with Katya for the final.
“And Katya is a much valued professional on the show and is hugely popular. This hasn’t affected her place in the Strictly family.”
