Natalie Gumede is to star in 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'Coronation Street' star will put her abusive soap character Kirsty Soames behind her to show off her dance moves on the BBC competition this autumn.
Best known for her dramatic storyline on the ITV show, which saw her evil alter-ego beat up husband Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) before being jailed for her actions, Natalie is hoping for a much less "intense" gig on the new series of 'Strictly'.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's healthy for me to step away from an intense and dark character for now.
"'Strictly' is something that I'd really enjoy doing. I'm a huge fan and would love to get the sequins out and be partnered with Brendan Cole."
Natalie, 29, is set to join an all-star line-up which includes TV personality Vanessa Feltz, WAG and model Abbey Clancy, Hairy Biker chef Dave Myers and singer Sophie Ellis Bextor.
Meanwhile, outspoken fashion designer Julien MacDonald - famed for offending Cheryl Cole when he dissed her personal style - is wanted by 'Strictly' bosses to inject some fun and drama into the show.
It was recently revealed 'EastEnders' legend Barbara Windsor turned down the gig over concerns for her health.
