The 45-year-old TV presenter has been subjected to criticism online for various issues over the years, including her interviewing style and fashion sense, and Naga has often adopted a no-nonsense approach to abuse.

The newsreader - who also starred on 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2016 - told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I have rather, shall we say, an assertive way, of dealing with people who abuse me on Twitter. I don't like it, I won't put up with it."

Naga also thinks people are more unpleasant on Twitter than they might be in person.

She said: "People saying anything on Twitter, they would never say to your face.

"Not that I'm inviting anyone to say anything horrible to my face in real life - just don't say anything horrible to me."

Earlier this year, Naga admitted she's happy to hit back at social media trolls "with two barrels".

The presenter insisted she's open to "constructive criticism" online, but she's completely intolerant of abusive behaviour.

She said: "The only reason to be nervous is if you don't know your stuff, if you haven't prepared and if you haven't done everything you can to make sure you have the answers.

"If you've done your side of the work, that takes nervousness out of it. When you talk about the storm, I hate injustice, I get so angry if people aren't fair.

"I have no issue with being criticised, [if] I am being told off by my boss for doing something wrong, absolutely not a problem."

She added: "I don't mind if on social media there is constructive criticism like, 'I feel you didn't ask this question, I feel like you didn't push that hard enough' that's fine.

"When someone abuses me, I'm going to come back at them with two barrels, I'm just not having it."
