Nadiya Hussain wants to adopt a child.
The 35-year-old chef - who won 'The Great British Bake Off' in 2015 - and her husband of 15 years Abdal are keen to expand their family in the near future.
Nadiya - who has Musa, 14, Dawud, 13, and Maryam, 10 - told a Netmums podcast: "It’s something we’re always thinking about.
"As our kids get older, we’d love to be in a position to hopefully give somebody else a home. Because we have the space for it, in our heart and our home.
"It’s something that’s on our radar all the time. Once we’re emotionally in the right place, I think we will do it."
Nadiya revealed she'd been considering adoption due to her friends’ experiences of the process.
The TV star also admitted she'd been influenced by a documentary by Sir David Attenborough which focused on the impact of population growth.
She said: "It’s such a selfless thing to do. There are children out there. I think as we’ve seen other people do it we’ve definitely thought about it more."
Meanwhile, Nadiya previously revealed she'd love to go on a family holiday to Borneo once the coronavirus crisis has eased.
She shared: "Our dream destination for a family holiday is Borneo - the idea of being somewhere wild like that is exciting, and I would love to see an orangutan.
"Being immersed in something that we usually only see while watching a wildlife documentary really appeals to me, so perhaps when life returns to normal we’ll think about planning a trip there."
