Nadine Mulkerrin and Rory Douglas-Speed still have to socially distance on the 'Hollyoaks' set - despite being a real-life engaged couple.
The 27-year-old actress - who plays Cleo McQueen on the Channel 4 programme - finds it "funny" having to stand apart from her significant other Rory (Joel Dexter) at the show's studios, but she is hoping the soap's scriptwriters will reunite their characters because she is finding it "really hard" being two metres away from her man.
She said: "Even when we're on set, me and Rory are still required to follow the social distancing guidelines, which is funny.
"It remains very much up for debate, because Cleo and Joel don't live in the same household, so they would have to keep their distance on screen.
"However, it would be great if the show could get us back together somehow - I hope they come up with a way to make it happen.
"It's really hard acting from two metres apart."
Nadine believes the 'Hollyoaks' fans related to her and Rory's characters Cleo and Joel being together so much because they are aware the pair are an item in real life, and she believes the audience are keen for the couple to reunite on-screen even more since they had their son, Reggie, 12 months ago.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "Me and Rory often wonder if the reason our characters were so successful on screen is because the audience know we're together in real life.
"Cleo and Joel have always had a great following, and from the messages I get, it seems people definitely still want them to get back together.
"I think they almost want it more now we're a little family off screen, and have Reggie."
