Myles Stephenson’s dad has been rushed to hospital amid his battle with COVID-19.
The Rak-Su singer took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal his dad, Terry, has been sent to hospital after contracting coronavirus, as he is struggling to breathe and needs urgent medical care.
Myles shared throwback images of himself with his dad – who suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – and asked fans to pray for his “best mate”.
He wrote: “Im not one to post family stuff on social media! I also don’t prayer much but when I do I know I’m worried.
“But... all my Jamaican side are very religious and I know they want as many prayers as possible! Say a prayer for my Dad for me gang, this morning he was rushed to hospital due to covid. (sic)”
Myles, 29, went on to reveal that his dad had visited the hospital when he first contracted the virus, but was later released, before having to be taken to the facility again when his condition worsened.
He added: “'He has already been once but this time his breathing has worsened.”
The ‘X Factor’ star also urged his followers to take the pandemic seriously, as he insisted the virus is “not like a common cold”, and is “no joke”.
He wrote on his Instagram account: “This post is not a ply violins for me it’s for my dad and also to stress that Covid is NOT LIKE a common cold, many people (including myself) at times think selfishly as they have not been affected by it.
“But many have. My Dad is, Black, Overweight and has COPD. Nothing has EVER hospitalised him until today! I want to reiterate COVID is no joke! But yeah, prayer for my best mate and stay safe! (sic)”
