Miranda Hart has confirmed she is to bring out a fitness DVD featuring maracas.
The 40-year-old comedienne will combine an authentic exercise routine with the rumba shakers for her new workout video 'Miranda Hart's Maracattack', which will have viewers giggling away while burning off those extra pounds.
She said: "'Maracattack' is based on one key concept. Fun. For fitness should be fun. Bear with as I coin a compound word - Funness. You will want to exercise. It's about playing, not working out and play helps your body, but also frees your mind.
"Without giving too much away, it involves maracas, classic pop tunes, and is as much fun as a riotous camp, cheesy disco. There is no need to dread the gym anymore."
The DVD will feature fitness expert Amelia Watts and will include a warm-up, 20-minute cardio session, a five-minute high intensity cardio routine and 10-minute strength exercises for arms, core, legs and bums, during which the pair work at different levels, so viewers are able to follow regardless of their ability.
The footage also contains brand new sketches, which will see Miranda joined by her 'Miranda' co-stars Patricia Hodge, Sarah Hadland and Tom Ellis, as well as a guest appearance from Kirstie Allsopp, while they work up a sweat to some feel-good tunes including songs from Kylie Minogue and Take That.
'Miranda Hart's Maracattack' is exclusive to DVD and will be available from November 18 for £19.99.
