Michelle Keegan has been tipped to replace Jenna Coleman on 'Doctor Who'.
Former 'Emmerdale' actress Jenna, 29, - who has portrayed Clara Oswald, the Doctor's companion since 2012 - recently revealed that she will leave the sci-fi show during the current season and Michelle is a hot favourite to take over.
Michelle, 28, is also a former soap star, having left her role as Tina McIntyre on 'Coronation Street' in 2014.
Bookies have slashed the odds on Michelle from 10-1 to 4-1 with a spokesperson for Ladbrokes saying: "Michelle is just what the Doctor ordered.
"As far as the odds are concerned, she'll be entering the TARDIS sooner rather than later as his assistant.
"If the punters are right on the money we'll face a bumper payout."
Speaking about filming her final scenes, Jenna said: "It was emotional! It's been in the works for a very long time. Steven [Moffat] and I sat down a year and a half ago and tried to work out the best place to do it, and the best place to tell a really good story - hopefully that's what we've done. I think it's really cool ... obviously we're not going to give away any details but it will happen at some point this season."
