Michelle Keegan has hinted there could be a return of 'Our Girl'.
The BBC military drama wrapped up in 2020 and although Michelle chose to leave the role, she pointed out the door was always left open for her character Georgie Lane.
She said: "I absolutely loved playing that role and I loved 'Our Girl', but I felt at the time that Georgie had completed her storyline. For four seasons she was mourning Elvis, or trying to get back with Elvis and, for me, the finale completed and concluded that whole four seasons, so I felt Georgie needed a break."
The 34-year-old actress - who shot to fame playing fiery barmaid Tina McIntyre in 'Coronation Street' - told how she would "love" to return to the role of Sergeant Georgie Lane.
She told the Radio Times magazine: "She is still alive, so a few years down the line we could pick it back up again. I would love to do Our Girl again; people would love to see what Georgie is up to now."
Michelle played the role of Georgie from series two to four of the drama, having taken oven from 'EastEnders' actress Lacey Turner, 33, who played the lead role of Molly Dawes in the first series.
'Our Girl' creator Tony Grounds previously opened up about the possibility of working with Michelle again.
He said: "With the finale of series four showing Georgie ready to move on with her life, it feels like the right time for us to do the same.
"Michelle and I are keen to continue our working relationship, and who knows, maybe we'll catch up with Georgie in the future. I wanted to say a big thank you to the fans of the show. It's been a joy to write."
