Michelle Keegan thinks 'Our Girl' will be a huge "challenge".
The former 'Coronation Street' actress can't wait to begin filming the new military drama series but knows she'll find it hard as it's so different to anything she's ever done.
She said: "I'm so excited. I've known for a long time now so I just want to start filming, it's been such a long wait.
"The role is different to anything I've done before, so it's out of my comfort zone.
"People probably look at me and think, 'She couldn't be in the army.' It will be mentally and physically challenging."
Michelle will relocate to South Africa early next year to film the show, and is already making plans for her loved ones to visit.
She said: "I'm sure Mark [Wright, her husband] will come out if he gets time - and so will my mum, friends and family."
However, Mark knows it could be tough for him to find the time to make the trip because of his own busy schedule.
He told Star magazine: "If I get a free week, for sure [I'll go over]. I'm on Heart Radio twice a week, so I can't be there the whole time, but I'll get over as much as I can."
