Michelle Keegan has confirmed her engagement to Mark Wright.

The 'Coronation Street' actress took to Twitter to express her joy about her upcoming nuptials, which are set to take place in a star-studded ceremony next year, with the former 'The Only Way Is Essex' hunk, and admitted the pair couldn't be happier after he proposed over the weekend.

She wrote: "THANKYOU for all the lovely messages, and yes it's true @markwright_ and I are engaged !! We are so SO happy :-) (sic)"

The 26-year-old stunner's tweet was swiftly followed by one from her fiancé, who thanked fans for their congratulatory messages on the social networking site.

Mark wrote: "Thankyou to everyone for your messages about our engagement. It means so much.(sic)"

The 26-year-old reality TV star is thought to have popped the question with a custom-designed ring during a romantic getaway to Dubai, where they met nine months ago and reportedly shared their first official kiss.

Mark's former 'TOWIE' co-star Amy Childs was among the first to congratulate the pair on Twitter, writing: "Congratulations to @MarkWright_ and @michkeegan on your engagement , so happy for you both xxx (sic)"

Mark's 'Take Me Out: The Gossip' co-host Zoe Hardman, who he was previously romantically linked to, tweeted: "@MarkWright_ @michkeegan Congrats you two! Can't wait to see you both when you get back xx (sic)"

Michelle - who broke off her engagement to The Wanted star Max George in 2012 - is to begin house-hunting with Mark in his local haunt of Essex, south east England, after Christmas.
