Michelle Heaton has apologised for not visiting Nikki Grahame in her final days.
The former Liberty X singer took to social media to post an emotional tribute to her friend after she passed away aged 38 following a battle with anorexia and revealed that she regrets not spending time with the 'Big Brother' star before her death.
In an Instagram post, Michelle explained: "I was scared to see you .. to say anything that may be a trigger to loose you..(sic) I was a coward and I’m so sorry.
"I just listened to our voices notes, our messages, and the phone calls over the last few weeks ..I think I knew, and I was too weak to know."
Referencing her family's recent battle with coronavirus, the 41-year-old singer continued: "Your last one, telling us you saw me on @lorraine & wished us all better and to call you.
"YOU thought of us even when on that day you were where you were! Most my 'so called friends' didn’t even contact us. (sic)"
She concluded the message with Nikki's famous catchphrase, writing: "Who Is she... who is she... She is @nikkigrahameofficial (sic)."
News of Nikki's death was confirmed on the GoFundMe page that had been set up to raise money for her healthcare costs.
A statement on the page read: "It is with great sadness, we have to let you know that our dear friend Nikki passed away in the early hours of Friday 9th April.
"It breaks our hearts to know that someone who is so precious was taken from us at such a young age. Nikki not only touched the lives of millions of people, but also her friends and family who will miss her immensely.
"We would like to request privacy at this difficult time, while Nikki's friends and family process the sad news.
"Full details will be released as and when we know them."
