Star of hit ITV show 'Downton Abbey' Michelle Dockery says being catapulted into fame hasn't changed her.

No changes have been made to the lifestyle of the 31-year-old actress - who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the period drama - and she claims her well-grounded childhood has given her that attitude.

She said: "It [fame] hasn't changed me. I don't have to walk around in hats or find remote places to go for lunch! I don't get recognised that often.

"I'm enjoying everything about this time in my life and think that comes from having grown up with rather modest expectations.

"I also feel 'Downton' is opening up so many doors for me and I can be very hopeful about what lies ahead."

'Downton Abbey' has been a huge hit in the US and Michelle hasn't ruled that out the possibility of following in the footsteps of several of her former co-stars, including Dan Stevens, who

played her former on-screen husband Matthew Crawley, by heading to America to pursue a movie career.

Quizzed on whether Hollywood is next for her, she added to LOOK magazine: "We'll see. The show, for all of us, has opened up opportunities, particularly in America because it's been such a success over there. I've really enjoyed doing different things in the break. I'd like to do something that involves music."

'Downton' returned to the small screen on Sunday night (22.09.13) and during the show more than 23,000 tweets relating to the period drama were posted on Twitter, according to the Virgin Media Hotlist measurement tool.

Michelle's character Lady Mary was trending on the social networking site as well as #DowntonAbbey and #Carsonsays in relation to her alter-ego's friendship with butler Carson, who is played by Jim Carter.
