Netflix have announced today that Michelle Dockery will be joining the cast of western mini-series Godless as the female lead.

Featuring Jack O'Connell and Jeff Daniels, the period drama will premiere worldwide on the streaming service next year.
Frank Griffin, played by Daniels will be followed throughout the series. Terrorizing the West and hoping to hunt down Roy Goode (O'Connell), he's intent on ending a rivalry that started out as a friendship.
Roy meanwhile is hiding at Alice Fletcher's (Dockery) ranch, whilst Frank's chase leads him to a quiet town mysteriously made up of entirely women.
Steven Soderbergh, Scott Frank and Casey Silver serve as executive producers on the show, with Scott Frank also the writer and director of the project.
