Michelle Collins is worried about young people starting out in the arts.
The former 'EastEnders actress - who played Cindy Beale on the BBC soap from 1988 to 1998 - revealed how much she is missing her work during the pandemic, and touched on the impact lockdown will be having on youngsters taking their first steps in the entertainment world.
She wrote on Instagram: "Cannot wait to start #rehersals #work again ! Miss it so much #communication #sharing , #entertainment
"so many people in #thearts #struggling #mentalhealth problems are going through the roof I worry so much about young people just starting out #theshowmustgoon #FLOA #actorslife .
"we must find a way to start getting back to some sort of #normality #creativity #innovation #positivty .#vaccine #lockdown . (sic)"
And last month, Michelle - who also played Stella Price in ITV's 'Coronation Street' - admitted she was "shocked" and "disturbed" by how many people are suffering from an eating disorder.
The former cobbles star - who has previously struggled with both anorexia and bulimia - wrote on Instagram: "I have been really #shocked and #disturbed about how many people , #young #older #male #female #mothers #fathers #brothers #daughters #bame #blacklivesmatter #transgender #lgbtq are suffering from #eatingdisorder . It doesn’t #discriminate believe me . I have been there . (sic)"
Michelle also shared an extract from her autobiography 'This Is Me', in which she penned a chapter about suffering from eating disorders, and she has called for people to "look out for the signs".
She added: "I was going through my #bookshelf and found my #autobiography I wrote a whole Chapter about it called #TheSecret . #lockdown can be cruel . Please look out for the signs and #becareful its becoming a big problem . It is not a #deathsentence and can be #cured #managed believe me I got through it to tell the story .#staysafe #bekind #mental health awareness (sic)"
