Michelle Collins is to plant some of her mum's ashes with a rose tree gifted to her by Adam Woodyatt.
The former 'EastEnders' actress - who played Cindy Beale in the BBC One soap - has thanked her former on-screen husband Adam (Ian Beale) after he gave her the garden addition, which is aptly called Special Mum, when her mother Mary passed away in April following a battle with cancer.
She said: "When my mum died three months ago I got lots of beautiful flowers, but I also got this plant from a friend of mine, Adam Woodyatt.
"It says 'Special Mum'. These beautiful pink roses.
"I'm actually going to plant it in the garden, and I'm going to put some of my mum's ashes in it as well."
The former 'Coronation Street' star has urged others to buy people a plant as a gift rather than flowers when a loved one dies.
Speaking in a video on her Instagram account, she added: "What a great idea isn't it? Buy someone a plant, it's such a great idea and it lasts so much longer.
"Special mum Mary.
"Thank you, Adam."
The 59-year-old star - who portrayed Stella Price in 'Corrie' - also thanked her "supportive friends" for being there for her over the last three months following her mum's passing.
She wrote: "#rosetree #garden #motherlove @adamwoodyatt #friends
