Michelle Collins would love to do 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The 'Coronation Street' actress would like to take part in the next series of the BBC One ballroom dancing competition, but worries she's not thick-skinned enough to handle judge Craig Revel Horwood's tough criticism.

She said: "You need to keep a little bit of yourself back. Although again, never say never. Out of all of them I'd do 'Strictly', but I'm quite competitive and I don't like to fail at anything, and I think probably fail at 'Strictly'!

"I'm a not very good dancer and I wouldn't take being criticised by Craig Revel Horwood well. I'd probably end up punching him!"

The 51-year-old star is leaving the Weatherfield cobbles in April next year and is already dreading saying goodbye to the friends she's made on set in Manchester over the last three years.

She said: "I'll miss Sue Johnston, but she's going at Christmas. And I'll miss Catherine [Tyldesley] who plays my daughter, and Jane Danson, I'm also very fond of Ryan [Thomas]. I'll miss the chaos that makes this great programme. There are some real characters there."

Nevertheless, the actress is hoping she won't get harassed in public quite so much when she departs her role as Rovers Return landlady Stella Price.

Michelle added to OK! magazine: "I'd forgotten the power of soaps because they're in your living room every night. People feel they know you so well and think that you're the character.

"The worst times are when I'm travelling up to Manchester on a Sunday night when there's been a football match and there are drunken men all over you, going, 'Stella, Stella!' usually with a drunken man touching you, you'd just go, 'Please, get off me', but you can't really because then they think you're being up yourself because you're on the telly."
