The new series of kids TV show Clangers is to be narrated by Michael Palin.
The star of Monty Python has inked a deal to become the voice of the animated classic, which explores the story of a pink mouse from a blue plant in outer space, and has said it was a "real privilege" to be offered the job.
Chosen for the part by Daniel Postgate - the son of Oliver Postgate who co-created the original series - Michael was the "first choice".
"Among other things, he's been a warm and charming guide for us all in his extensive travels around this world, so it seems wonderfully appropriate that he should pack his bags once more, go off across the starry expanse of space and do the same for the world of the Clangers." said Daniel.
Peter Firmin added: "As an old stick-in-the-mud I don't often change my mind and from the very beginning I wished and hoped that Michael Palin would agree to be our narrator.
"Once in a blue moon wishes come true. This is once in a blue moon. I hope Michael enjoys his voyage to our little Blue Planet."
The BBC website says that CBeebies, Coolabi Group, Smallfirms and Sprout will all co-produce the show.
Clangers is set to air in the UK in Spring of next year.
