The 42-year-old comedian and television presenter was parked near his children's school in London on Monday (04.04.18) waiting to collect them when two masked-men drove up on mopeds wielding hammers.

According to The Daily Mirror newspaper, they smashed the windows of his Range Rover and tore his £15,000 Rolex watch from his wrist.

Michael's agent said: "There was an incident. Michael is fine."

But one onlooker told the newspaper: "Michael looked distraught and in a state of shock after what happened. It must have been terrifying. A woman who looked like his wife also seemed very upset and in tears.

"The police were on the scene very quickly."

Michael - who is thought to be worth £38 million - has two sons, Lucas, 13, and Oscar, 10, with his aromatherapist wife Kitty.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said today: "Police were called at 1.59pm on Monday, 4 June to reports of a robbery in North End Road, NW11.

"Officers attended. The victim was stationary in his car when two males on a moped smashed the car windows with a hammer before stealing property.

"No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."

Michael's comedy style is known for being hugely optimistic.

He hosts 'Michael McIntyre's Big Show' on the BBC and was previously a judge on 'Britain's Got Talent'

In 2012 he was reported to be the highest earning comedian in the world, raking in £22.86million in just one year.

Smash-and-grab robberies on motorcycles and mopeds have become increasingly common in London with criminals targeting designer store fronts and parents on the school run in wealthy areas, stealing jewellery and mobile phones.

Police are cracking down using new measures such as remote-controlled spikes to puncture tyres and DNA tagging sprays.
