The 51-year-old star plays Ellie Nixon in 'EastEnders' and she's loved filming with Steve, who plays Phil Mitchell in the long-running soap.

Asked how she's found the experience of working on the show, Mica replied: "Unbelievable. The intensity between me and Steve is insane. It's like ... the way I would describe it is like two Range Rovers facing each other."

Mica also acknowledged that Ellie is a distinctively different character to the kind she's used to playing.

However, the actress has enjoyed the challenge of portraying a "villain".

Speaking on ITV's 'This Morning', she explained: "I've never been a villain before. I'm usually the one making everyone feel good. But I love it though, I'll be honest."

Prior to joining the soap, Mica described her character as a "new frontier".

She explained: "I am absolutely over the moon to be in 'EastEnders'. I have been a fan since its first episode with Susan Tully being my favourite.

"My character the formidable Ellie Nixon is a new frontier for me as an actress – a lot of folks will see me as never before."

Jon Sen, the executive producer of 'EastEnders', also welcomed her arrival.

He said: "Ellie proves herself to be a ruthless and uncompromising force of nature who stops at nothing to ensure she capitalises on whatever she can.

"The part demanded both charisma and presence and having seen Mica on stage, she was the first person who came to mind for this role."
