Mica Paris based her villainous ‘EastEnders’ character on a real person.
The 51-year-old singer and actress joined the BBC soap for a brief stint earlier this year, when she took on the role of Ellie Nixon, the adoptive grandmother of Denise Fox's (Diane Parish) son Raymond.
Mica’s character quickly clashed with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) who tried to regain custody of his son following the death of the youngster's adoptive parents, and Ellie demanded £250,000 in order for her to hand over Raymond before Phil sent her packing by planting drugs in one of her properties.
And now, Mica has revealed she “literally borrowed” Ellie’s character traits from someone she knows in real life, but insisted she won’t be disclosing their identity because they’ll stop inviting her to parties.
She said: “She was evil! It's so opposite to me and it was really fun doing it, I have never played a baddie.
“But Ellie ain't playing, she's hardcore, I mean I'm scared of her! I know someone I should say and I've literally borrowed their character.
“I just can't tell people who it is because I won't be invited to the parties so I've got to keep schtum, so to keep it sweet I keep it quiet.”
Mica also admitted she hasn’t been asked to return to Walford yet, but would be willing to reprise her role because she had an “amazing time” on the soap.
When asked if fans will be seeing Ellie in 2021, she told MailOnline: “Let me just tell you I had such an amazing time, it was two months of total fun, Steve's [McFadden] great, a lovely guy, Diane [Parish] is amazing just, great people.
“It’s very family there, so if the phone rings I'll let you know but it ain't rung yet.”
