The former 'The Xtra Factor' co-host has already been getting himself in shape ready to tackle the notoriously intense training sessions by cutting back on sweet treats, which he's found a challenge as he really misses eating cake, and he's also been hitting the gym to get his body in shape.

He said: "I have been going to the gym more and running to up my fitness levels. I have cut down on certain foods and drink ... I miss cake so much."

Meanwhile, the hunky star is hoping to sweep the lucky professional dancer he is paired with "off their feet" with his "sexy" Salsa moves.

He quipped: "I have always thought I was a lively, cool and sexy dancer and I've always wanted to be that guy who swept someone of their feet with some cool Salsa moves."

Melvin joins previously announced contestants Will Young, Laura Whitmore, Ed Balls and sport presenter Ore Oduba.

Former MP Ed doesn't seem to be full of confidence and has admitted he's "scared to death" about the venture.

He said recently: "I'd like to say I'm just really excited about learning to dance on TV, but the truth is I'm also scared to death.

"Making a speech in Parliament seems a piece of cake compared to this, but hopefully I can stick around for a couple of weeks, and have a lot of fun in the process."
