Melvin Odoom is set to become a roving reporter on 'The Big Breakfast'.
The 40-year-old comedian is poised to follow in the footsteps of Richard Bacon and the late Keith Chegwin as a roving reporter on the show, and he can't wait for the challenge.
Melvin told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "'The Big Breakfast' inspired me, and I’m sure many more of us in the industry, to get into TV back in the day.
"With its colourful chaos in the mornings, it looked like the most fun job in the world, so it’s a real dream come true to be part of the squad bringing the show back and giving it our own flavour."
'The Big Breakfast' is making its long-awaited return to TV screens as part of Channel 4’s Black to Front project.
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Denise Van Outen admitted it would be "nice" for herself and Johnny Vaughan to reunite for the show's 30th anniversary in 2022, having finally ended their long-running feud.
She said: "Johnny and I have had a bit of a rocky relationship over the years for various reasons and, funnily enough, we’ve messaged a lot in lockdown.
"These situations make you reflect and realise some of the silly niggles and arguments you have are just not worth it."
Denise also admitted she was excited to watch the one-off special, which is being hosted by AJ Odudu and Mo Gilligan.
She recently said: "I’m thrilled [AJ is] doing it, she’ll be great.
"And it’ll be so nice to watch. It’s like a trip down memory lane – back into the old house. I’m not sure what it’s like in there now."
