Melody Thornton fears having her teeth knocked out on 'Dancing on Ice'.
The former Pussycat Dolls star is set to make her debut with her pro partner Alexander Demetriou on Sunday's (13.01.19) episode of the ITV1 celebrity ice skating show after competing in the group performance last weekend, and the 34-year-old singer is "excited" but also "nervous".
She confessed: "I'm so excited for Sunday, but I'm really nervous as well.
"It ain't a small deal you know. If something goes wrong, you lose your teeth. I definitely think that from time to time, 'Okay, don't lose your teeth, don't lose your teeth'.
"But hopefully that doesn't happen, touch wood."
The 'Buttons' hitmaker is also worried that she might forget some of the steps in their routine, as she admitted during her time in the chart-topping girl band - alongside the likes of Nicole Scherzinger and 'Strictly Come Dancing' star Ashley Roberts - she would often struggle to remember the choreography.
She added to The Mirror Online: "It's not like anything I've ever done before so I have to have those moments where I surrender and say, 'I don't know what I'm doing', and hope for the best, it's all you can do.
"I'd never skated before. I am from Arizona, which is like the hottest city, it's not one of those things that you'd do with family, no one is really used to the cold.
"I was pretty unsteady at first but I had to just tell myself to be patient. I think the big thing for me was to tell myself, 'If you hurt yourself then you're out', so I really had to be patient and take my time learning all of the basics. It was crucial for me."
Melody joked that she was "always one second behind" the other girls and wasn't even in the dance breaks for their music video for 'Buttons'.
She recalled: "In Buttons, that was a four-day shoot and I was in hair and make up every single day but really only filmed for one day, I sat in a seat to sing my part and I'm not in the dance breaks because they were just looking for a certain calibre of dancer that I was not. It's always been a challenge."
She quipped: "I was always one second behind the choreography.
"Or doing something completely different and going, 'Don't yell at me'."
Melody previously addressed claims she would have an advantage on 'Dancing on Ice' for being a member of the 'When I Grow Up' group.
The singer insisted she cannot throw shapes as well as her fellow former bandmate Ashley on the dancefloor and is keen to let people know that she is "not a dancer", to ensure she isn't accused of having an unfair upper hand on the reality show.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I actually did think I might get that [accusations of being a trained dancer], but the good thing about this show is that I'm not a dancer. I get to tell that story.
"I'm the only person from the Pussycat Dolls that was not a dancer. I was always at the back of the formation."
