Melanie Sykes has reportedly split from her husband.
The 43-year-old presenter is on a trial separation from Jack Cockings less than two weeks after she was arrested and given a police caution for common assault on her partner.
An insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "The age difference just became too much. It's not a case of Mel ending the marriage because Jack called the police.
"But what happened was obviously an indication that things weren't right. It's hard to see how they're going to be able to make the marriage work. The pressure has been just too intense."
It is reported they haven't seen each other since the incident, but there "haven't been any more rows" either.
The source added: "They have been communicating but haven't met face-to-face. Obviously that needs to happen in the coming weeks.
"It's been incredibly difficult for them to sort anything out given the massive attention after the arrest. But there definitely haven't been any more rows."
The couple got married in May after a whirlwind romance which began last year on Twitter.
Melanie's first marriage to actor Daniel Caltagirone ended in 2009 after eight years. They have two children together - Roman, 11 and Valentino, nine.
