Melanie Hill can spot if people need a hip operation - after she went through "torturous" pain before going under the knife herself.

The 59-year-old actress has admitted her op, which took place nine years ago, "changed [her] life" because she was in so much pain before while shooting 'Waterloo Road', but Melanie carried on because she didn't want to lose her job.
She said: "I had a hip replacement when I was 50. I was doing 'Waterloo Road' and I had a stick for two years, and for the last year it was just torturous.
"We filmed three series back-to-back, and I didn't want to lose my job.
"So, I just carried on as much as I could, but I was on loads of painkillers.
"When I had my hip replacement, it literally changed my life, as the pain was gone.
"I can always spot someone who needs their hip doing, as they have a kind of waddle and I recall the agony."
Since the op, the 'Coronation Street' actress - who plays Cathy Matthews in the ITV soap - has been able to run 5k "twice a week", and she admitted her outdoor exercise sessions have led to her ditching her gym membership.
When asked what the most surprising thing 'Corrie' viewers may not know about her, she told Inside Soap magazine: "Probably the fact that I take keep-fit quite seriously.
"I always have. I used to go to the gym in London and I always had a membership, but I've got rid of it now and started running outside and I like it better."
Melanie portrayed Maggie Budgen in BBC school drama 'Waterloo Road' from 2012 to 2015, when the series came to an end.
