Mel B is to appear on 'Celebrity Gogglebox'.
The Spice Girls singer will don her signature leopard print as she gets cosy on her couch to review the week’s most talked about TV with her pal Ruby Wax, 69, for the latest star-studded Stand Up To Cancer edition of the show on Friday (28.10.22), in tribute to her “big, strong and beautiful dad” Martin Brown, who died of the disease in 2017.
The 47-year-old pop star - whose real name is Melanie Brown - is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “Cancer touches so many peoples’ lives. My big, strong, beautiful dad was just 63 when he died after a long battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
“I miss him every single day. He loved to watch telly and he loved to laugh, so I’m doing this for him and for everyone else out there who has lost someone to cancer.”
Ruby has also been touched by cancer as her “best friend and mentor”, 'Harry Potter' star Alan Rickman, died in 2016 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
She said: “I think of him every day.”
The duo and their dogs will pass comment on the week’s biggest stories on the small screen, such as Netflix’s hit ‘The Watcher’, and the appointment of Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Other 'Celebrity Gogglebox' stars include Gordon Ramsay and his daughter Tilly, and Olympic champion Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black.
The celebs will sit alongside regular fan favourites such as Jenny and Lee, Pete and Sophie, Marcus and Mica and the Siddiqui family as they watch emotional real-life testimonies from families struggling with cancer - such as Dylan James’ Story and Emily’s Story - to raise money for Cancer Research.
