Meg Ryan is set to star in her own sitcom becoming the latest movie actress to move into TV after signing up to star in and produce a comedy for US channel NBC.
Meg will play a one-time hotshot editor-turned soccer mum who returns to the New York City publishing house she once worked at, only to find her former intern is now her boss.
The character decides it is time to re-join the workforce after separating from her husband and tries to juggle all of the responsibilities in her life, including pleasing her neurotic employer, looking after her kids, going through a divorce, and keeping her meddlesome mother-in-law at bay.
The sitcom will be written by Emmy Award nominee Marc Lawrence.
Meg is best known for her big screen success in films such as 'When Harry Met Sally', 'Sleepless in Seattle' and 'You've Got Mail'.
The actress recently revealed she prefers to live outside of Hollywood for a quieter life with her boyfriend John Mellencamp and eight-year-old daughter Daisy.
Fellow big screen star Halle Berry was recently confirmed for a move into TV, also. She has signed up for drama series 'Extant' for rival channel, CBS.
