Medic Bob will not return to the next series of 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me out of Here.'
The 72-year-old paramedic - whose real name is Robert McCarron - served as a medical expert on the ITV survival show normally set in Australia from its inception in 2002, until it was forced to move to Wales due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 but is reportedly "too busy" to return to the show now that it is heading back to its regular home.
A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "Bob was so busy that something had to give and sadly, that’s the UK version. It’s unthinkable to imagine the show without Medic Bob!"
The outlet went on to allege that Bob - who during his time on the UK version of the reality show, famously swooped in to help 'You Are What You Eat' presenter Gillian McKeith when she appeared to faint live on air after it was announced she had to take part in what would have been her seventh consecutive trial - will continue with his role on the German version of the programme and will be replaced by a new medic on the upcoming UK series who will not be seen on screen.
Bob previously joked that during his time on the German show, he noticed that the contestants are "much tougher"
as part of their culture when compared to the celebrities who have appeared on the UK version.
He said: "The German stars are much tougher. I do not really know why. But that seems to be part of German culture."
