'I May Destroy You' was among the big winners at the heat Unmissables Awards.
The comedy-drama series - which was written and stars Michaela Coel - won this year's TV Drama of the Year gong, while Michaela received the Actress of the Year prize for her portrayal of Arabella in the BBC series.
She said: "Thank you very very very much for voting 'I May Destroy You' show of the year. It means a hell of a lot to have my work recognised on such a huge scale."
The actress used her own experience of sexual assault to tell the story of Arabella, who rebuilds her life after she is sexually assaulted in London.
Boyd Hilton, the entertainment director of heat magazine, added: "The raw power and fundamental humanity of Michaela’s performance anchored the whole incredible series."
'Normal People' also received two awards, including TV Binge of the Year and Actor of the Year for Paul Mescal for his portrayal of Connell Waldron.
Lenny Abrahamson, the show's director, said: "All of us involved in bringing 'Normal People' to the screen are delighted by these awards. It’s great that the series as a whole made such an impact and that people felt compelled to keep watching - which this award from Heat really underlines.
"We are thrilled for Paul Mescal, also, with the wonderful Daisy Edgar-Jones, anchored the whole show. Considering the people is being compared to, it’s a real triumph."
Elsewhere, Matt Lucas won the Lockdown TV Hero of the Year accolade for the revival of his hit song 'Baked Potato', which he first coined during his stint on 'Shooting Stars', while 'This Morning' star Alison Hammond took home the TV and Radio presenter of the Year award.
