Maura Higgins has slammed a "rude" Tesco employee who stopped her from buying wine without ID.
The 29-year-old star has taken to Instagram to reveal her sense of outrage, after a female assistant prevented her from buying alcohol.
Maura - who found fame on 'Love Island' in 2019 - said on the platform: "So guys I am literally in Tesco and this is not the first time this has happened actually ... I was asked for ID while buying wine and I said to the lady, 'I am 29 I turn 30 next month' and she was like, 'There's not much I can do' - she was very rude."
Maura admitted that her frustration was, in part, tempered by the fact that the assistant thought she looks youthful.
She said: "I mean, it's a compliment in a way I look young. But in another way what if I actually really wanted a glass of wine tonight like it's a bit f***** annoying, do you know what I mean?"
Meanwhile, Maura previously insisted that the public's perception of her is different to the real-life reality.
The brunette beauty claimed she's been "misjudged" her entire life.
She said: "I’ve always been misjudged, my whole life.
"I think people look at my Instagram and think of me as a completely different person – because when I meet people out, they always say, 'You’re so much nicer than I expected.'"
Maura also admitted to worrying about her appearance.
She shared: "My biggest worry going into 'Love Island' was that I am so pale and I don’t get a colour.
"My mammy was saying to me, 'Maura, honestly, you’ve got more to worry about than your bloody tan!' I was thinking everyone else was going to be so tanned, and I would be a ghost. My nickname at school was Casper."
