Matt Smith's final episode of 'Doctor Who' is titled 'The The Time of the Doctor' and will see the Time Lord face his old enemies the Cybermen, Daleks, the Silence and Weeping Angels.
The 31-year-old actor is leaving the titular role in this year's Christmas special and he will face a number of his greatest enemies.
The synopsis of the episode released by the BBC states: "Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe's deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them - the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe."
The episode's title follows a recent theme of titles including his name with the last two instalments being called 'The Name of the Doctor' and 'The Day of the Doctor' - the 50th anniversary special which also starred David Tennant and John Hurt.
The episode is set on the planet Trenzalore - which has been referenced in several adventures and is known as the final resting place of the Doctor - and will see Peter Capaldi take over the role from Matt.
Speaking about the Christmas special, showrunner Steven Moffat told website Blogtor Who: "It's a proper finale to Matt Smith, it's the story we've been telling since he put the bow tie on. A lot of stuff we've left hanging, we tie up there. And it's Trenzalore!"
