Matt Richardson has joked he wants to see rumours about him romancing 'X Factor' contestants.

The new 'Xtra Factor' co-presenter - who has replaced Olly Murs on the ITV2 spin-off show - is open to stories making him seem like a big ladies man on the programme.

He quipped: "I really hope I get linked to someone. It would be great to see something like, 'Matt Richardson is going out with one of the girlbands'. Yes! I'll be down the pub saying, 'Uhh, guys, hello! Richardson's on it!' "

Meanwhile, the comedian has insisted he won't be romancing his co-host Caroline Flack - who enjoyed a flirty relationship with former 'Xtra Factor' co-host Olly last year and previously dated One Direction's Harry Styles - insisting he is "too much of a goon".

The 22-year-old presenter said: "I think as soon as people see the first 10 seconds of the first episode they'll think, 'He's too much of a goon. No one will ever go out with him.' "

Caroline admitted Matt's humour impressed 'Xtra Factor' bosses when they were deciding who to replace Olly with, and admitted he was also chosen because he was so different to the 'Troublemaker' singer.

Speaking at 'X Factor' auditions at London's Wembley Arena on Monday (15.07.13), she said: "He was so funny and made us laugh and was completely different from Olly."
