Matt Lucas is set to reunite with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer for 'Big Night Out'.
The comedy duo recently announced they were making a one-off special of the cult comedy series, which aired for just 15 episodes on Channel 4 from 1990 until 1991, later this year and it looks like plans are falling into place nicely as they've reportedly called on the 43-year-old star - who starred in the programme as scorekeeper George Dawes - to take part in the half-hour show as Rag 'N' Bone Man.
According to The Sun newspaper, Matt - who rose to fame on 'Little Britain' - tweeted a picture of himself donning the singer's iconic trademark beard and said he was excited to be working with Vic and Bob again for the first time in eight years.
Meanwhile, Vic and Bob recently teased the special is something they've been wanting to do for a while but feel the time is finally right for the project.
They said in a statement: "This is the show we wanted to perform back in the 1980s.
"Now the time is right. We will be increasing our respective heights in order to perform some of the more intricate and challenging moments."
The reboot of the show will be aired on BBC2 and marks the return of the comedy duo since their show 'House of Fools' was cancelled in 2015 after only two series.
Shane Allen, controller comedy commissioner, said: "In this special Vic and Bob go back to their live stage show roots to mark three decades as the most pioneering, surreal and unique pairing in British comedy.
"With a mix of old and new characters, recorded in an intimate setting they give a modern spin on that rich tradition of English eccentricity that stretches back to the music hall, through Spike Milligan and The Pythons in creating characters that delight or baffle depending on who you are."
